Reading Support Projects
In response to the Coronavirus epidemic we are stopping all in person meetings for the time being. We plan to trial the women’s group via zoom and if this goes well we will also be offering the peer support group in this format.
Reading support groups
We will run an inaugural LGBTQ+ group on February 11th (email for details) and a community meeting on Tuesday March 10th.
We run weekly groups in Caversham:
We also have a monthly social group, usually in the daytime on a Saturday, that goes on outings.
A monthly mixed peer support group is on every first Tuesday of the month and a women's peer support group on the third Tuesday of the month. Both are from 7pm to 9pm in Caversham.
Sign up to join or learn more about any of these groups.
Exploring being autistic
This ten week programme offers autistic adults the opportunity to explore how autism affects them, together with a group of peers. An imporant element of the programme is the chance for participants to share their responses to knowing or discovering they are autistic with peers, and have the space and support offered to process these responses.
You can see a detailed outline of the programme, read some FAQs and/or listen to and read feedback from some previous participants. You can also read an evaluation produced by Dr Laura Crane of CRAE
The next programme will start in early 2020. It will be facilitated by Caroline Hearst. This programme is funded by the Lottery Community Fund, so free to join, however we do accept donations from participants so we can expand our work. You can sign up to be on the list to join.
